These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and services. By registering an account or purchasing a lesson package, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services Provided
LK English provides online one-on-one English language lessons conducted remotely via online communication platforms. Lessons are delivered by independent contractors who work with LK English as freelance tutors. LK English acts as the organizing platform and is not the direct employer of its tutors. We reserve the right to assign or reassign tutors based on availability and student needs. In the event that your regular tutor becomes unavailable or leaves, LK English will always provide a suitable replacement tutor to ensure continuity of your lessons.
2. Accounts & Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account with others or allow anyone else to access your lessons. LK English is not liable for any unauthorized access resulting from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
3. Payments
All lesson packages must be paid in full before any lessons are booked or started. Prices are listed clearly on our website and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Price changes apply only to new purchases and will not affect credits already held on your account. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By completing a purchase you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
4. Refunds & Credits
All refund and credit requests are governed by our Refund Policy, available at lkenglish.com/refund-policy. By purchasing a lesson package you confirm that you have read and understood that policy.
5. Scheduling & Attendance
Students are responsible for attending scheduled lessons on time. If you need to reschedule, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be considered forfeited and deducted from your package without credit. LK English reserves the right to reschedule a lesson due to tutor unavailability, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, students will be notified as early as possible and the lesson will not be deducted from their package.
6. Recording & Media Consent
LK English may record lessons for internal purposes including quality assurance and tutor training. By using our services you agree to this internal recording. For public use — including social media, marketing materials, and promotional content — we will only share recordings or clips featuring you if you have given explicit consent. This consent is collected via a checkbox during registration. You may withdraw your consent for public use at any time by emailing us at info@lkenglish.com. Withdrawal of consent will not affect any content already published prior to your request.
7. Intellectual Property
All lesson materials, content, recordings, and resources provided by LK English are the property of LK English or its tutors. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or share any lesson content without our prior written permission.
8. Student Conduct
Students are expected to treat tutors and staff with respect at all times. LK English reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate services to any student who engages in inappropriate, abusive, or disruptive behavior. In such cases no refund or credit will be issued.
9. Privacy & Marketing Communications
Your use of our services is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at lkenglish.com/privacy-policy. We may send you marketing and promotional emails with your consent. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at info@lkenglish.com.
10. Limitation of Liability
LK English is not responsible for any interruptions to service caused by factors beyond our control, including internet connectivity issues, third-party platform outages, or force majeure events. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current lesson package.
11. Changes to Services & Terms
LK English may update lesson structures, pricing, schedules, or these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution by contacting us at info@lkenglish.com. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Mexico.
